This american bayonet was made in 1902, originally for the Krag repeating rifle, and probably around WW1 or WW2 was converted into a fighting knife by shortening the blade and reprofiling the foible. This is a splendid example of an1850 foot officer pattern from the United States Army. This sabre was made at Klingenthal in France and bears inspector marks dating the sword to the Civil War.
