This is a rare pattern which was used by officers of the Army Medical Corps from 1892 to right after the First World War when they switched to the more common 1897.
This particular sword has a solid hilt with a nice deep patina. The guard and blade are marked to Edward VII. The blade has surface pitting which is obscuring any makers mark, though it has a serial number. It is not marked to the RAMC, which is not uncommon.
The scabbard is missing it’s mouth and belt frog, which could both be replaced. The leather has some scuff marks.
Overall, it is a good representant of a very rare pattern and a good piece for any amateur of medical history.
