This is a very nice and in a way fairly rare example of the classic 1889. This example was made by WKC, probably around WW1 with the usual black painted scabbard of this period. It is a fairly usual piece except for the fact that it was service sharpened, which is very rare on German swords of this era.
The sword is in excellent shape, with only minor movement in the pommel cap, but very solid elsewhere.
