Sold- Moroha Zukuri Tanto

For sale, this Moroha Zukuri tanto possibly from the late 16th century to the late 17th century. The piece sits in a very nice and tight koshirae with horn kashira, tsuba and kojiri. It could fit in a companion piece which is missing, and has some very discrete cracks on the saya that don’t distract from the piece or compromise it’s integrity. The saya is decorated with mother of pearl, forming fan shapes around the lower part.

The blade is unsigned, and is in very good polish, with a very visible grain and hamon. This blade is Moroha Zukuri and thus is double edged. Moroha Zukuri pieces are a fairly rare find, and a great addition to any collection. I was quite hesitant to sell this one, but I decided to keep another piece instead.
