This is a very nice example of an artillery officer sabre made by the renowned Thurkle which was bought by Gaunt in 1897. This sabre was likely made around WW1 judging by the style of etching and the overall quality.
The sword is in near pristine condition. Very little wear or corrosion and very solid with no rattle. The scabbard has some wear as could be expected. The sword knot is in great shape, but missing a button.
