The 1860 sabre is one of the most popular weapons of the American Civil War, and this particular one is a great example.
This sabre was made for the Union Army in 1862 by Mansfield & Lamb of Forestdale in Rhode Island. The company produced scythes, but in the Civil War started to produce swords for the military.
This sabre is in great shape, the blade being in excellent condition, no rattle of any kind in the hilt which retains its original patina. The scabbard is also in very good shape.
If you ever wanted to own an 1860, this is a great example to acquire.
